9:37 AM 2,000,000 Beatles Songs Sold on iTunes in a Week
Do you remember the day Apple brought the entire Beatles music catalogue on iTunes? Well, Apple sure hoped you remember the day. Anyway, it seems The Beatles are still popular with people as they managed to sell more than 450,000 albums and more than 2 million tracks on iTunes, all in just one week of their appearance on the world's most popular music store. This was to be expected as The Beatles soared to the top of the charts on iTunes on the day of their availability with 11 of their albums being on the iTunes top 25 albums list.
The bestselling album in U.S. was Abbey Road while the bestselling track was Here Comes The Sun. Looking at the numbers now, Apple Corps must be repenting their decision to sue Apple Inc. back in the day and wondering how much better had it been for them if they had allowed The Beatles to be on the iTunes store since Day 1.
