A couple of days back, Google's official YouTube account had posted a Voice Search video in Cantonese language that featured Android 2.3 Gingerbread user interface. However, this went unnoticed until AndroidPolice, an Android-focused blog, spotted the video. Though the video was pulled down by Google's Hong Kong channel, a user managed to grab it and uploaded it back on YouTube.

The video and the Android UI are both in Cantonese so we couldn't figure out much in terms of text. For high-end Android phones packing 1GHz CPU and 512MB RAM, the Gingerbread UI would appear real fast. Android Market will also get a refreshed look. Looks like Gingerbread would be mostly a UI improving update along with several fixes and the actual major update would be Android 3.0 Honeycomb.

Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread update has been anticipated since the last couple of weeks but there's no official word on its arrival as yet.
