BMW, the German luxury car maker is showing interest in the great Indian potential and is betting high on them not just for Indian level but also at the Global operations. Talking on the issue, Dr Andreas Schaaf who is the president of BMW India Private Ltd commented that India is a huge source of exceptional human resource and the Indian talent has potential not just for local market but also the the company's global operations. He also said that the company is really looking forward for some exceptional Indian brains which can assist then at the International level. He also added that the prominent advantage with Indian human resource is their ability to interact in English which creates edge over people with other nationalities. This potential makes them apt to be employed anywhere in this world and melts all national restriction on them. At present BMW has 400 employees in India and by the end of year 2012, 1,200 new jobs will be generated within the dealer network. The German car manufacturer also intends to source its components from India as it will become a leading car market in coming 10 years. The companents sourced from Indian grounds will be employed for products all around the globe.
BMW is a leading luxury car manufacturer and has given tough competition to its rivals including Mercedes Benz and now it also has plans to increase their dealership network so that the product availability becomes more convenient. The company has made a target of 50 showrooms on Indian grounds which will be based in 2 and tier 3 cities. According to current statistics, Mumbai and Delhi contribute maximum to the sales of BMW cars.
The present portfolio of BMW India holds 10 exclusive models including BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series, BMW 6 Series, BMW 7 Series, BMW Gran Turismo, BMW M Series, BMW X3, BMW X6, BMW Z4 and BMW X5. The least priced BMW 3 Series comes for Rs 23,95,000 and the highest priced BMW M Series costs Rs 1,31,90,000. with these products, the company holds the top position in luxury car markets.
