Honda is all set come with its new small two- box Honda Brio which it showcased earlier in Auto- expo Delhi, 2010. Honda will reveal Honda Brio in 27th Thailand International Auto Expo commencing on 30 November. This hatchback of Honda is expected to be a stiff competition to Toyota's upcoming model Toyota Etios. Brio is expected to come in 1.2 litre petrol engine either similar or smaller in comparison to Honda Jazz which is going to be built on new base. Honda Brio is expected to have 3 cylinder engine but without V-TEC technology . Codenamed 2CV, Honda Brio is expected to be launched by the beginning of next year and will come with class technology which will be fuel efficient . Honda expects this car to be one of the most economical hatchbacks. This car will come only in petrol segment and the officials have stated that they have no plans to manufacture it in diesel variant . Interiors of the car are expected to be similar like Honda Jazz with full comfort, space and boosted features . Honda is planning to price this car below 5 lakhs in the domestic market to make it more competitive. Standard safety features like ABS and Airbags will be there in Brio to make it excellent from safety point of view Honda Brio might come in a 5 speed manual and automatic (CVT Type) transmission.
In the domestic market this B segment hatchback can compete with cars like Chevrolet Beat, Maruti Wagon R , Maruti Alto K10 , Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo and Nissan Micra. The auto major Honda Siel Cars in India (HSCI) was established in December 1995 as a joint venture between Honda Motor Company Ltd.,Japan andSeil Ltd owned by Siddharth Shriram Group Company. The company has got its manufacturing facility in Greater Noida and Tapukara . Currently Honda offers Honda Jazz , Honda City, Honda Accord, Honda Civic and Honda CR-V in India. Honda's iconic car Honda City has been one of the most selling cars in its class. Honda is currently manufacturing petrol cars and by 2011 they are planning to move ahead with Honda CR-V Diesel model which will surely make Honda a dominant automaker in the domestic market.
