 In a refreshing break from the dreary monotony of the Farmvilles and Mafias of the Facebook world, one of the classiest comic franchises is bound to hit the social networking platform. This is not the first time the British comic series is making a digital jump, as it was known for a slew of PC adventure games in the '90s like Monty Python & King Arthur's adventures, Meaning of Life, and a Complete Waste of Time.
Unlike its PC counterparts, the Facebook version of the games will be a hybrid between quasi-multiplayer based RPGs based around Facebook palatable minigames. Needless to say, Facebook being Facebook, Monty Python is no excuse for the developers to not charge the players real dough for in game content. This brand of commercialism may not fit the irreverent ethos of Monty Python, but let's just hope the game's worth it. The Rock, Paper, Shotgun preview describes the minigames as shameless clones of well known titles like Angry Birds, Crush The Castle and Galaga. The minigames will, as expected, be peppered with a mix of oblique and sometimes obvious Monty Python references. In case you're wondering how well that'll come through, the man himself is involved in this project. | |
