 New Delhi, Nov. 2 -- "Munni badnam is a super- duper hit song and it's not even choreographed well. The song has done very well with the audience as it's rustic and cultural," says ace choreographer Saroj Khan (inset) in the context that international dance has changed the face of Bollywood; but it doesn't help. Does she mean, the choreography of 'Munni badnam' was not good? She clarifies, "I don't say that it's bad but it could have been better." "There are dances in our culture in which you can see nautanki; and people like that. Western dances may be very sophisticated but will not stay forever in the minds of the public," she adds. On her successful journey on the small as well as big screen, she proudly says, "You can see it very well; I have got the most awards and the best ones... and I'm still working at the age of 62." Is she is comfortable doing item numbers? "I am comfortable doing everything. I don't have to tell a producer that I can't do hip hop or any other form," says Khan, who in this season of her popular show Nachle Ve will be accompanied by choreographer Terence Lewis. About the choreographer, she says, "Terence and I share a good rapport on the sets. I have seen him from the time he entered this industry and I like his contemporary style of dancing, too." | |
