4:59 PM Reliance to Roll Out SMS Mobile Conference Service | |
Reliance today announced that it will roll out an SMS based Mobile Conferencing service that is handset independent called Group Talk. The service will support both CDMA and GSM networks, which means, no matter what handset you possess, you can add up to 9 contacts in a single SMS to initiate a Mobile Conference Call.
The Group Talk service has been available for Rs. 40 per month for GSM and CDMA network subscribers for both prepaid and postpaid customers all over India. Group Talk - mobile conferencing service was introduced last year for Java, Brew, Symbian OS and BlackBerry devices. Now Reliance has made this service available to any Reliance Mobile (GSM or CDMA) customer possessing any handset. This new SMS-based Mobile Conferencing solution has been devised by US based Kodiak Networks. For cost-effective Mobile Conference calls, all one has to do is create a Group and then simply send an SMS to 51234323 to initiate a conference call. To create a group, the user needs to type "C ." with phone numbers (both mobile and landline) starting with prefix 91 (for mobile) & STD Code (for landline) and send this as a SMS to 51234323. Reliance GSM and CDMA subscribers can create up to five groups and up to 9 numbers can be added per group. For initiating a conference call, send a SMS in the format CHAT to 51234323. All the group members will be notified via a SMS giving the Conference Dial-in number. Then all they have to do is call up the Dial-in number and start the group talk. You can also schedule a group talk conference well in advance. Now you call talk to your college pals, office colleagues and loved ones at the same time at a cost effective rate.
