BODY What: Oriental Rice and Oatmeal Body Scrub and Balinese massage, Sohum Spa, Juhu Experience: From the moment you walk in, there is an air of tranquility. You are welcomed with a cold towel and a refreshing beverage. This particular treatment polishes, hydrates and nourishes the skin leaving it soft, and is suitable for all skin types. The traditional Balinese royal massage is a continuum of relaxing acupressure, skin rolling, and firm, smooth strokes along specific energy channels. It is a combination of dry and oil massage. After its conclusion, you bathe before changing back into your clothes. As a perfect way to unwind, you are served herbal tea and slices of fresh pineapple. Review: It’s surely an indulgence you must try before the festive season to gear yourself for the festivities. FACE What: Clarins Radiance Facial Experience: It’s a perfect facial to rejuvenate your skin and feel brand new! Scheduled for an hour minutes, the procedure includes a detailed diagnosis of your skin by deft hands of Clarins professionals, followed by cleaning your face off any makeup, then exfoliating, a soothing massage of your face, application of the Clarins mask, rounded up with an extensive shoulder massage. The mask is really relaxing and the shoulder massage does take away your stress to a large extent. By the time you finish, your face feels hydrated and fresh. The radiance is instantly visible on the face and the skin looks luminous, even and refines. Review: A must-try before you jump on the bandwagon of Diwali celebrations. Also, the facial has a lasting effect. While immediately your skin feels softer and radiant, in the next two days, your face looks relaxed and rested. HAIR What: Hair ritual and haircut at Rossano Ferreti Hair Salon, 4 Seasons Hotel, Lower Parel Experience: With the hotel’s hospitality, my experience was definitely ceremonious. Starting with a thorough scalp-check, counselling and hair examination, the hair expert suggests the products and therapy for the ritual. After a warm-water hair wash with a combination of two or three different shampoos to suit the hair-type, the hair ritual begins. The hair is divided into fine sections and the conditioner is applied. It commences with a relaxing therapy by massaging the scalp for 45 minutes followed by 15 minutes of steaming the hair. The conditioner is then rinsed off the hair and dried just enough for the haircut. After a ‘chat’ with Alessandro, Director, Rossano Ferreti India, he explains the haircutting technique followed by Rossano Ferreti. Owing to the legendary techniques started by Rossano’s father, they follow the natural hair growth pattern to cut the hair. Keeping in mind, the hair texture, fall and pattern, Alessandro cuts the hair to give it shape and bounce. Review: Walking in with dry, unshapely hair and walking out with soft and shiny hair and a new look altogether is perfect to start off the celebrations this Diwali! HANDS & FEET What: French manicure and pedicure with festive nail art, Rudra spa and salon Experience: If a manicure and pedicure in itself don’t evoke much excitement, the supremely royal feeling of having someone at your beck and call will probably do you in. As you sit on the chair, the manicurist begins cleaning your nails and the pedicurist begins soaking your feet in a warm bubble bath. Between this heavenly treatment and the soothing music, all you need to do is lie back and relax. What is even more special is the astonishingly smooth and painless working of both the experts. After a perfectly done French manicure, you can take your pick from a wide range of festive embellishments to adorn your nails with. Colourful flowers, shimmery studs, glitter nail paints; you’ll be spoilt for choice! Review: Clean, delicate, stunning nails for a smashing season of festivities.
