Our skeletal body is framed to carry and shoulder the normal weight of our physical body, but obesity obstructs the normal functioning of the systems, causing pain in the body. Obesity and related pain can however be controlled by practicing 'Supt Pawanmuktasan', which is an easy posture to start with. Method of performing the 'asana': -Lie supine on some mat, keeping the neck, spine arms and legs straight in one line. -Inhale and lift the right knee first, then exhale and slowly bring it close to the chest by bending and holding the knee by both the palms. -Retain the posture for 5 to 10 seconds. -Slowly inhale and return back to starting position. -Repeat the posture with left leg. -Practice this asana 5 to 10 times daily. Benefits of the 'asana': A regular practice of this pose helps in reducing pain in the knee and reduces fats deposited around the waist. |
