The selection of a plot is the first step before constructing a house, it is suggested that it should be done according to Vaastu.
-Try to construct the building over 60% of the plot and it is better to leave 40% of the plot open for gardening and garage purposes. Prefer a corner plot as it is considered the best.
-Do not purchase a plot near graveyard, cremation ground, factory or big rivulets.
-Battered house, dried well, broken-down temple and pits should not occupy any area around your house as negative energies are generated from these places.
-Prefer to construct main gate of the house in the north direction, if not possible then east direction is suggested which is favorable from health point of view.
-It is advisable not to choose south facing plots.
-Number of windows and open space around the house also has significance in Vastu.
-A garden or an uncovered space in front of the plot is better and should be preferred.
