HOME DÉCOR Simple yet stunning If lavish home décor items are not your style, adorn your home in a simple and chic manner, desi style. You can hang delicate garlands outside your door, line up several small diyas on the window sill, fill a glass bowl with flowers or flower petals and add a candle, which can be used as a centerpiece on the centre table, and mini lights can be hung on the balcony window. If buying readymade diyas are too impersonal, make your own at home and give it your personal touch. All you need is a plain diya, some acrylic paints, a tube of glitter glue and embellishments such as tiny mirrors, beads, etc. First, apply the paint and let it dry. Then, add the various elements of design. You can either draw paisley prints, stick on tiny mirrors or simply splash on some glitter and voila! You’ve made your own set of diyas! They even double up as homemade gift items for family and friends.
