Stressed out and just not able to deal with it? Do you even know that it’s juts not your environment that leading to this situations of yours but also the unhealthy food that you have on a daily basis which is making the situation worse! To help you out of this tricky situation, we’ve come up with a list of few food items that can help you de-stress yourself to the hilt: Oranges The vitamin C found in Oranges helps reduce stress and returns blood pressure to normal levels after a heated encounter. Almonds, Pistachios & Walnuts Almonds are packed with B and E vitamins, which help boost your immune system, and walnuts and pistachios help lower the blood pressure. Sweet Potatoes Sweet potatoes are stress-reducing as it satiates the urge you get when under a great deal of stress. Green Vegetables Broccoli, spinach, bitter gourd and other dark green vegetables help our bodies in times of stress. Dried Apricots Apricots are rich in magnesium, which is a stress-buster and a natural muscle relaxant as well. Anton Emmanuel, consultant gastroenterologist at University College London, cites a study in which constipated patients received reflexology and bowel behaviour was monitored. A group of patients not only felt less stressed, their bowel movements became more normal. "I think it may have an effect on the nervous system. Pain is perceptual: any intervention to alleviate pain has to work on the brain and the nervous system," he said. |
