Women are no longer confined to managing the household works. They now play a major role in the professional world as well. However, some of their physiological features such as menstrual disorders create hindrance for them at times. Hastapadasana helps in tackling these problems. Sequence: 1. Stand straight in mountain pose 2. Inhale and raise your hands above the head 3. Exhale and bend forward till your hands touch your feet 4. Slowly bend further and grasp your toes 5. Retain the pose for few seconds 6. Inhale and return to the starting position Precautions: 1. Initially you will not be able to bend till your abdomen touches your upper legs, so keep on trying and after two to three weeks you will be in a position to touch your forehead with knees. 2. Don't bend your knees while bending forward. 3. Don't continue the posture for more than five to 10 seconds initially. 4. Forward bending should not be performed by push and jerks. Benefits: 1. Makes the spine flexible 2. Corrects the menstrual disorders in women 3. Helps to remove back pain. 4. Prevents constipation and other stomach ailments. |
