Many people who suffer from obesity and are loaded with extra weight find it a cumbersome task to shed off that extra ounce from their body which is causing a whole lot of difficulties in performing daily chores. Youngsters too are taking health-issues for granted and are least bothered about paying sincere attention to this issue. They have developed ill-habits of eating food which eventually leads to hazardous results and to become obese is one of them. If they become little considerate about health issues then Yoga has got such ‘asanas’ which can help them in getting rid of excess fat. Hastpadasana is one such asana which can help in cutting extra fat from the body. How to do? First stand straight in mountain pose then inhale and raise your hands above the head. After some time exhale and bend forward till your hands touch your feet. Slowly bend further and grasp your toes. Retain the pose for few seconds and then inhale and return to the starting position. Precautions: Initially you will not be able to bend till your abdomen touches your upper legs, so keep on trying and after two to three weeks you will be in a position to touch your forehead with knees. Never bend your knees while bending forward and don't continue the posture for more than five to 10 seconds initially. Also forward bending should not be performed by push and jerks. Benefits: The task helps check obesity and makes the spine flexible. It also helps in removing back pain. It also prevents constipation and other stomach ailments. |
