Importance of Goddess Saraswati's carrier

Goddess Saraswati, in Hinduism is worshipped as the goddess of learning, knowledge, intellect, music and arts. She represents the union of power and intelligence.
She is also called ‘Vak Devi’ – the Goddess of Speech. Hindus worship her in order to gain ‘secular knowledge’ as well as ‘divine knowledge’. She is always shown as a beautiful, fair skinned goddess who is dressed in complete white and is seated on the white lotus.
A white swan is often seen seated next to her feet. Due to her association with the swan, she as also called "Hamsa-Vahini – ‘the one who rides on swan’. According to Holy Scriptures she is mainly depicted in white – her complexion, garments, seat and vehicle – all are white which signify the purity-- the purity of knowledge.
White color symbolizes absolute purity, essential for earning knowledge and enlightenment. Today’s world is the world of extreme competitions and hard work. To achieve all this one has to have peaceful mind and that can only be showered by goddess Saraswati who is the embodiment of knowledge and wisdom.
Her white swan is also supposed to symbolize the purest form of knowledge and prudence. This sacred vehicle of goddess Saraswati is said to be able to drink the milk alone. The swan thus demonstrates the discriminatory power between the good and the bad, the right and the wrong, the real and the unreal, the eternal and the evanescent.
Good life needs sound building of knowledge and Goddess Saraswati through her white colored swan teaches us that if we want to dispel the darkness of ignorance, we should put sincere efforts in the pursuit of knowledge and prudence.
