The chocolate boy of Bollywood Imran Khan inaugurated the 2011 wedding season. Imran-Avantika wedding has the fashion police discussing about the same. Delhi-based designers Kapil and Monika give their take on the latest couple, and not to mention, their closed ones:

The wedding saga began with the Mehendi function. Dressed in a simple salwar-kameez, the petite beauty looked quite at ease. "We love the green color as it is a sign of prosperity and looks beautiful on the Indian skin,” said the designers about the bride-to-be. "The white kurta with denims for Imran gives him a casual yet fun look, which is perfect for him.”

Then there was the Sangeet ceremony to follow, where the bride and groom-to-be appeared in a traditional avatar. "We totally love this look donned by Imran and Avantika! They look perfect as a couple. Avantika is a beautiful looking girl, thus, red is a beautiful colour to be worn on fair skin. Also, it shows an element of confidence in the one who wears it. Imran’s velvet sherwani looks great with subtle embroidery.”

If the bhanja looked dapper, mama Aamir was no less. "Aamir khan looks like a million bucks in his white sherwani,” comment the designer duo.

However, aunt Kiran Rao has not been applauded by many. "Her look is not that up to the mark, she could have surely dressed up appropriately for the occasion. We love the colors in the lehenga, but the cuts and designs chosen could have been better. Also, the glasses chosen could be trendier.”
