Almost every store in the city has a cozy rack dedicated to winter wear, thanks to the chills that remind everyone of the Bangalore that once was. However, with the variety of winter clothing to choose from, one can’t help but be spoilt for choice. So much so, that you just might end up buying stuff that may not really be what you were looking for in the first place. Designer Anu Nagappa says, "Though winter in Bangalore is not too cold, it requires you to stay warm. For women who set out for work, stretch shirts paired with formal trousers with closed shoes would look nice. While for the men, sleeveless sweaters or warmers can be worn on formal shirts just like jackets.” The choice of winter wear for kids is quite something. Designer Rochana Dubey Mitra says, "For kids, colourful sweaters paired with a nice pair of boots is perfect. It is important to keep their feet warm, so closed boots is the best option.” For adults, winter dressing should be simple. Designer Ritu Pandey adds that dressing in layers can prove to be a practical option. "Wearing light woolen clothes with dramatic caps and boots are in this season. Women can sport soft woolen tops with jeans or cotton trousers, while men can go in for merino wool jackets or leather ones,” she says. Staying safe from the cold is not just about clothes and accessories. We also need to take care of our skin and hair. "Using cold creams is the best way to keep the skin moisturised. As far as make-up is concerned, one can go for a whole range of blush-on or eye shadows,” explains stylist Gauri Kapur. A regular oil massage followed by a wash and conditioning will work perfectly well for the hair this winter, she adds.
