If you are experiencing a lack of energy, vigor and vitality then Bhrangasana can re-energize you. This posture in its full form resembles the frog; therefore it is called the Bhrangasana or Mandukasana.
Sequence of performing the Asana: - Sit kneeling and slip the toes to join at the back. - Place buttock on respective heels, with the toes and sole joining each other. - Keep some distance between the knees. - Now inhale and bend forward, placing the elbow between the knees. The arm should rest on the floor. - Keep some distance between the hands. The fingers, however, should touch each other. - Keep the neck slightly upwards, with eyes focusing on some object. - Retain your breath and posture for 5 to 10 seconds. - Exhale and slowly return to the starting position. - Repeat the posture at least 5 times initially. Benefits of the Asana: - Bhrangasana strengthens digestion and boosts appetite. It also removes gastric disorders like constipation, acidity and heaviness of the stomach. - It helps develop shoulders, arms and legs. - It makes the body healthy. |
