Women spend 6 days/year looking into the mirror!

And you thought diamonds are a girl's best friend? Well, a new study seems to have contradicted this for sure. According to a survey, Australian women spend an average of six days a year gazing at their own reflections in a mirror.
The survey, conducted by McCrindle Research for Nutrimetics revealed that tending to hair, make-up, skincare, nails and general grooming takes the average woman 24 minutes a day, which equals an entire year when rolled up over her life, reports News.com.au.
Women in New South Wales spend a minute more perfecting their appearance than the national average, beaten only by Victorian women, who take an average of 26 minutes. Tasmanian females are the lowest maintenance, taking just 16 minutes per day to complete their beauty routine.
The figures paint Australian women as more vain than their British counterparts, who spend an average of five days a year in front of the mirror. The survey also showed that Generation Y was more likely to go fresh faced than their Generation X counterparts, many of whom would not face the day without make-up.
"Australian women care about how they present to the world,” researcher Mark McCrindle said.
"Women are increasingly juggling different roles - whether it be professional, social or parental - and the research shows that they have a number of different make-up looks to suit those,” he added.
Make-up artist Rebecca Lau says she takes around 20 minutes daily to get ready, but takes more than double time when preparing for a night out.
"When I'm going out, I take about 45 minutes but I think getting ready is part of the fun,” she said.
