Yoga is gaining more and more importance in today’s frantic and turbulent life. Human beings are running after power, praise, and prosperity from dusk to dawn, leaving behind the peace, placidity and pleasures of life. This type of lifestyle coupled with imbalanced diet pushes the man in the realm of physical and mental sickness. Our sages and saints introduced yoga in their daily routine not only to get physical and mental strength but spiritual as well. The most favorable asana, Siddhasana is a method where you sit with your legs stretched out at full length. Next bend the left leg and place it against the left thigh. Now adjust the heel of left leg in such a way that it presses the anal slot. Bend the right leg and place the right heel on the root of the generative organs. Do keep your neck head and spine erect and then place right hand on you right knee and left on the left knee with the palms touching the knees. Breathe normally with open or closed eyes. Practice this asana for minimum 3 to 5 minutes and slowly come back to starting position and relax. There are several benefits of Siddhasana. This is a perfect pose for increasing concentration and for meditation. It also helps in purifying and energising the nervous system. The asana also controls respiratory, cardiac and digestive disorders. |
